1. Introduction

Collaboration Champion is a Jira Cloud application designed to enhance team engagement and productivity through gamified collaboration. It transforms teamwork into a rewarding experience, encouraging users to actively participate in Jira project activities.

2. Installation

  1. Log in to your Jira Cloud account.

  • Visit the Atlassian Marketplace and search for "Collaboration Champion".

  • Click the "Get it now" or "Try it free" button.

  • Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.

3. Administrator Configuration

After installation, Jira administrators need to perform initial configuration:

  • In the Jira sidebar, locate and click on "Collaboration Champion".

  • On the admin page, you'll see a four-step configuration wizard:

a. Configure Admin:

  • Enter your Organization ID

  • Enter your API Token

  • Click "Validate and Continue" to verify the configuration

b. Select Teams:

  • Choose teams to participate in the gamification from the list

  • You can select all teams or specific ones

c. Configure Levels:

  • Set titles and minimum points required for each level

  • The system provides 5 default levels, which you can adjust as needed

d. Other Settings:

  • Choose whether to reset all user points (use this option cautiously)

  • After completing all steps, click "Confirm and Submit" to save the configuration.

4. User Interface

4.1 Issue Panel

In the right panel of each Jira issue page, users can see the Collaboration Champion interface:

  1. User List: Displays all users related to the issue, including their avatars, names, and current points.

  • Level Badges: Shows the current level badge next to each user.

  • Sound Toggle: Users can choose to turn on or off the point notification sound.

4.2 Global Leaderboard

Users can access the global leaderboard from the top navigation bar in Jira:

  • Team Leaderboard: Shows total points and rankings for all participating teams.

  • Individual Leaderboard: Displays points and rankings for all members within a selected team.

  • Team Selector: Allows users to switch between different team leaderboards.

5. Point Rules

Users can earn points through the following Jira activities:

  • Creating an issue: 3 points

  • Assigning an issue: 2 points

  • Adding a comment: 2 points

  • Updating issue status: 2-3 points (3 for completion, 2 for other status changes)

  • Updating issue priority: 1 point

  • Being mentioned in an issue description: 1 point

  • Creating a worklog: 1 point

6. Level System

Users automatically level up based on their accumulated points. The default level settings are:

  1. New Explorer (0 points)

  • Rising Star (200 points)

  • Skilled Practitioner (800 points)

  1. Master Contributor (1500 points)

  • Elite Expert (3000 points)

Administrators can customize these levels during the configuration process.

7. Sound Notifications

Users can choose to enable or disable sound notifications for earning points:

  • In the issue panel, locate your user card.

  • Click the sound icon to toggle the sound on or off.

  1. With sound enabled, you'll hear a notification each time you earn points.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues:

  • Ensure your Jira Cloud version is up to date.

  • Check if the administrator configuration is completed correctly.

  • Clear your browser cache and log back into Jira.

  • If problems persist, contact your Jira administrator or the Collaboration Champion support team.

9. Privacy and Data Security

Collaboration Champion only collects data related to Jira activities for point calculation. All data is stored within your Jira Cloud instance and is not shared with third parties.

10. Updates and Maintenance

The application automatically updates to the latest version. Administrators can view update logs and new feature descriptions in the Atlassian Marketplace.
